In most cases, we recommend that clients book airfare directly with the airline. When a flight is booked directly by the traveler, only the traveler can make changes or resolve issues with the airline. A travel advisor cannot be added as the agent of record after the fact, which means the airline typically will not allow us to manage that reservation on your behalf.
Because flights can change quickly due to weather, cancellations, mechanical issues, crew schedules, and other disruptions, booking directly gives you the fastest access to the airline when something goes wrong.
Lucere is still happy to help you evaluate routing, timing, and flight options so your airfare works seamlessly with the rest of your itinerary. We simply recommend that you complete the final booking directly with the airline.
